Capabilities:
An applicator of solid film lubricants coatings to components such as engineered fasteners, bearings, camshafts, metal pressings, springs, disc-brake callipers, locking mechanisms, hinges, seat belts and more. The coatings applied are multifunctional in that they can provide lubrication and corriosion resistance resulting in extended part life. In particular the lubricating performance of the coatings when used on threaded fasteners aids the reduction in torque/tension variability and reduces the torque required to fully tension fasteners. This ultimately results in consistently higher clamp loads compared to other finishes.
The coatings are used to operate in environments where conventional coatings and lubricants cannot function or are not sutiable. The company's coatings meet many local and international specifications. All coatings are applied under procedures covered by a quality system accredited to ISO 9001. Markets served include industrial, automotive, mining and defence.
Design and Development:
Molybond developed its first corrosion resistant and dry film lubricant coatings consisting of 1P and FM1 in the 1960's. Soon there after 1PX1 was developed which is still one of the company's leading products. The company now has access to coatings worldwide through its international associations.
